The Inner Development Goals are based on the assumption that everybody wants to develop. That might be the case, yet different national cultures impact the way we learn. For example, do we initiate our own development, or is it the responsibility of society we live in and/or the organisation we work at to create a learning environment?
Do we look upon development as a source of continuous improvement, meaning we feel we are never perfect or do we simply want to achieve a certain status, build up a certain track record to be seen as the master of our own universe?
This workshop combine academic insights based on recent research done by Hofstede Insights together with Mikael Minkov, among 60+ countries and 60.000+ respondents with practical insights from how different organisations go about ensuring a learning culture from which employees and organisations alike can benefit.
2. Mindshift-in-Action: Bubble-Hopping

Join us for a workshop on bubble-hopping. We will explore how to break out of our bubbles and increase our understanding of others. It will help to bridge divides in organizations and in society.
We will give you an experience and a framework that you can adapt, develop and use in your work (and life). This is a workshop for those who want to learn a practical method to create a mindshift, and how to use it in organizations. It will be run by a team from Sweden, Germany, and France.

3. Managing complexity by creativity

Developing the internal capability to deal with complexity, without considering the external systemic context and the behaviours it affords, is not sustainable.
In this workshop, we will explore principles and learnings from the world of circus and theatre. In particular, using the lens of managing complexity in social organisations, we will explore how environments can be created where creativity and the increased capacity to thrive in ambiguity, uncertainty and complexity can emerge naturally.
The outcome of the session will give you clear ways of working within groups, as well as the internal dispositional mindset to support the use of emergence as a lever for stronger creative/innovative outcomes.
4. Life challenges as part of the curriculum to inner development

5. Environmental Compassion

Reconnecting to inner qualities such as openness, compassion and courage. Seeing the reality of environmental suffering and taking actions that intend to relieve that suffering. During this participatory session Jeroen Janss, co-founder of the Inner Green Deal will lead participants to practice environmental compassion and reflect on the benefits of cultivating an “open heart and a strong back”.
6. Designing environments that accelerate individual and collective development.

Agile just celebrated it´s 20th anniversary. As software is eating the world, Agile has played a huge part in the last 20 years of rapid digitalization. And now as change and disruption is everywhere Agile is becoming mainstream in all types of domains, as a key approach to handle complexity.
When introducing Agile, we focus on creating support structures that encourage collaboration, learning, innovation and testing hypotheses. Examples are Scrum, Kanban, Product Discovery (hypothesis driven development).
In this workshop we will explore the question; how can we design environments that stimulate and accelerate individual and collective development, needed in a complex world?
In this workshop you will meet some agile practitioners as well as other guest speakers that bring their unique perspectives on designing environments that accelerate development.
7. Inner development as part of the work towards agenda 2030 - how could it be possible?

At the core of the agreement Agenda 2030 are the 17 SDG´s but also three key words, that if taken seriously, really challenge what we do, and how we lead towards this ambition.Transformation, the idea that we radically shift the systems we are in and how we do and organise our work and require us to abandon trusted solutions, and working towards what does not exist. Integration of views, perspectives that are not ours, but are important for others and need to be part of a co-creation process. Universality, Leave no one behind, means our shared responsibility to act based on the notion that all humans have equal value.
What do these ambitions require from us? How could we grow inner competences to make greater outer impact possible? How could our strategies include space and support for people to over time develop helpful inner capacities?
John Holmberg, professor at Chalmers university introduces this workshop inviting participants to be part of conversations finding new ways forward.
Catarina Rolfsdotter, chair of Global Utmaning, Gabriel Wikström from the government's Agenda 2030-delegation and a couple of more guests reflect based on their overview of initiatives and state of sustainability work in Sweden right now and what is needed moving forward.
8. The interdependence between individual growth and organizational sustainability

Mindshift is based on the idea that inner development is needed for us as a humanity to be able to fulfill sustainability in line with the SDGs. In this workshop we will focus on the connection to the organizational system level - where most of us spend a lot of our time and effort and where many feel that change is needed.
Together we will be exploring the interdependence between individual growth and organizational sustainability and how we can create conditions for them both. During the workshop you will also be able to reflect upon the barriers you perceive exist to organizational sustainability and individual growth – and how you can contribute within the context you are in.
Self Leader and Sonder share the notion that more human-centric organizations are important to be able to manage uncertainty and a complex business environment. But we also believe that human-centric organization is a key to both human and planetary sustainability. The human-centric organization is dependent on the well-being, engagement, and growth of its members. And those members will be able to shape a more sustainable path forward.
9. How can inner work unleash new energy and resources when working in challenging contexts?

What we are able to do in the outer world is in direct relation to our inner well-being. No matter how materially poor, no matter how challenged, no matter how wounded - everyone is also inherently whole and there is health even in the midst of breakdown and challenge. To connect with and activate this health requires an inner re-orientation. This inner re-orientation requires a willingness to slow down, to connect more deeply to ourselves, to nature, and to each other. Out of that shift we can find generative ways of moving forward together.
Taking this approach is a radical act in the midst of urgent social needs. But without it we will not be able to awaken the vision, trust and commitment to forge new paths.
In this workshop Maaianne Knuth and Tendisai Chigwedere share experiences from Gateway Zimbabwe in hosting community development with a strong foundation of inner work. Stories from Zimbabwe will serve as a launchpad for a dialogue and exploration with participants on how to bring inner work practices and a fundamental orientation to wholeness as core to community work. Although this work is based on community work it is relevant also to working within institional and organisations challenges. The inner re-orientation will enable us in any and every context.
10. Exploratory session with 29k: Technology and psychology for deep transformation

Technology has succeeded in marrying with psychology to create deep transformation at scale. How can we use this advancement to further enable the development of transformative skills as a science? How can we ensure we achieve the level of access needed to make this useful for organisations and meaningful to all? This research-based and interactive session will consider this question whilst providing participants the chance to experience at first hand pioneering exercises that can shift people’s lives towards greater meaning.
Today’s psychological interventions support individuals and organizations to emerge from disruptive experiences more resilient, mentally and physically healthier and values-driven than before. Until now, the best programs have been reserved for the few. Technology now offers the chance to expand access to all, at the same time as advances in research indicate digital interventions are as effective as more traditional paths of development. During this session we shall discuss the possibilities emerging for technology to support the exponential advancement of research into transformative skills and open up access to all. We shall also experience first hand the next level of leadership development interventions with an interactive introduction to the Purposeful Leadership course created by Frank Bond at University of London and 29k, using the pioneering psychological construct ALIVE.
11.Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy.

We are in a time when we need to connect to the Earth, more than ever. But when confronted with the monumental wounds inflicted on the living world, it is often easier to just turn a blind eye. Talk about hope can feel superficial and vain. How can we stay open, cultivate hope, resilience and deep connection (to ourselves, our community, and Nature) in these challenging times? These are skills that can be honed, so that we have access to them in trying times such as the moment we are in.
This workshop presents the Works that Reconnects by ecophilosopher and activist Joanna Macy and is based on the book Active Hope (co-authored with Chris Johnstone). It embraces the difficult feelings we may have in the light of global crises and transforms them into unexpected resilience and creative power. Cultivating Active Hope is a practice that is different from optimism. It is about becoming active participants in bringing about what we long for. To have active hope is to find internal sustenance to joy, compassion and meaning amidst our pain for the world, so that we can sustain ourselves in compassionate action.

13. Co-creating the Inner Development Goals

In this session Thomas Jordan will briefly describe the background to and method behind the development of the framework Inner Development Goals and then take participants on a guided tour among the different crucially important skills and qualities identified through the project. Participants will be invited, in smaller groups, to reflect on the relevance of the framework for their own settings and aspirations, and share best practice experiences in how to foster the individual and collective capacities we need in order to contribute to a sustainable world capable of ensuring human dignity and well-being.
